Dementia can be devastating for individuals and their families— impacting memory, orientation, language comprehension and expression. While there is no cure for dementia, there is hope! Speech therapy interventions have been shown to decrease frustration, increase communication, maintain nourishment, increase meaningful activity and reduce caregiver burnout. Quality of life, safety and maximized independence are the ultimate goals.
